DESCRIPTION:Length: 6½ - 7 miles\nA pleasant walk through woods and a
 cross fields in a pretty area of undulating countryside to the NE of W
 elwyn.  We initially head N through Lockley and Harmergreen woods (pa
 ssing several air shafts from the railway tunnel below) to just S of W
 oolmer Green.  We then head E to Datchworth Green before heading SW v
 ia Burnham Green to Digswell and Welwyn North Station.  Prospect of d
 rinks en route at the White Horse, Burnham Green and/or at the end at 
 the Cowper Arms just next to the Station\n \nWalk leader: Caroline Wa
 ll (07803 172527)\n \nMeeting point and time: New Southgate mainline 
 station – please be ticketed in time to catch the 13:57 train (passe
 s through Alexandra Palace 3 minutes earlier at 13:54). The 221 bus (T
 urnpike Lane to North Finchley via Bounds Green Road) stops near New S
 outhgate Station (ring the bell though as bus drivers don’t seem to 
 know what a compulsory stop is these days!). \nWe will hop out at Hatf
 ield (14:18) and board another train at 14:27 which will take us 2 sto
