SUMMARY:Birding Fundraiser: Bruce Carson Memorial
DESCRIPTION:One of the park’s most enthusiastic and dedicated birder
 s, Bruce Carson, died suddenly in the summer. We are holding a birding
  event  to celebrate Bruce’s life and to raise funds for much-neede
 d habitat improvement in the Cricket Scrub - an important spot for bir
 ds in Alexandra Park. \n \nBruce’s partner, Fiona, has kindly dona
 ted Bruce’s bird books to the Friends, and we will auction these at 
 the event. You are also invited to bring any of your bird books or oth
 er birdy stuff for a bring-and-buy table. Mark Evison, the Park Manage
 r, will talk about his woodland management plan, which includes the wo
 rk on the Cricket Scrub, and there will be a display of some of the fa
 ntastic bird photographs taken during the year in the park.\n \nThe e
 vent will take place at CUFOS, at the top of The Avenue, N10 2QE, on S
 aturday 20 November starting at 7.30 pm. We will ensure the ventilatio
 n in the room is good, and it will not be crowded. Drinks and nibbles 
 will be served.\nWhether you are someone who knew Bruce, or you are a 
 birder hoping to pick up a good bird book or you would like to hear mo
 re about birding in Alexandra Park, do come along.  If you plan to at
