DESCRIPTION:In October The Step is launching a new series of London ta
 lks with Peter Berthoud, a London Guide and Writer.\nOn the first Thur
 sday of each month Peter will be looking at an unusual aspect of Londo
 n’s history. The first talk will be on London as it Might Have Been.
 \nHe will be sharing images of the sometimes visionary, sometimes just
  plain bizarre ideas that architects, planners and others have had to 
 “improve” the city over the years. A square Piccadilly Circus, a t
 ideless Thames, monorails and urban airports, new bridges, grand vista
 s and a rather morbid pyramid are just some of the schemes that never 
 quite got off the ground.\nThe talk will last an hour including an opp
 ortunity to ask questions and to look at some original plans. We’re 
 also putting on lots of Undiscovered London food and drink deals to ke
 ep the little grey cells ticking.\nDiscovering London at The Step talk
 s will be taking place on the first Thursday of the month at 12 noon.
