DESCRIPTION:George Kenner was a German national living in London as an
  ‘enemy alien’ in 1915. Taken into internment following the public
  outcry over the sinking of the ‘Lusitania’ he was to spend the re
 mainder of the war in three camps including Alexandra Palace where he 
 was held between September 1915 and June 1916.\nKenner was an artist a
 nd recorded life around him during his internment including his time a
 t the Palace in a series of watercolours, drawings and sketches.\nToge
 ther with his journal the archive created by Kenner is one of if not t
 he most comprehensive records of civilian internment in Britain during
  the Great War.\nGeorge documented his time at the Palace with an impa
 rtiality and accuracy that has stood the test of time and allows us a
