 en has appeared with everyone, but his most long lasting gig (apart fr
 om his parallel career as an orthopaedic surgeon) is probably the 20 
 years or so he spent as a member of Stan Tracy’s Quartet.\n\nDon We
 ller’s is also a household name; he also appeared regularly with Sta
 n Tracy, led his band Major Surgery in the 70s and continues to lead h
 is own Quartet and Big Band. Pete Whittaker is a much in demand pianis
 t and organist whose recent associates include Theo travis, John Ether
 idge (Blue Spirits) and the Nigel Price Organ Trio. Stu Butterfield is
