 colm Earle Smith has been well established on the London jazz scene fo
 r over 20 years.\nAfter graduating from the Guildhall in 1989 he joine
 d the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and since then has gone on to work
  with Kenny Baker, Jack Parnell, Digby Fairweather, Martha Reeves and 
 Ronnie Spector.\nA  multi-faceted jazz musician,  Malcolm is not onl
 y widely  respected in the fields of classic jazz and swing,  but is
  also a very accomplished  improviser in  bop and  more contemporar
 y idioms.  His   broad musical approach has enabled him  to perform
  with  a variety of artists including Kenny Baker,  Liam Noble and B
 ryan Ferry,  as well as developing a distinctive voice of his own.  
  He has a broad and  inclusive approach to jazz education,  and is c
 urrently Lecturer in Jazz  at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music an
 d Dance,  London.\nMore recently he is a member of the Basin Street B
 rawlers, and leads Three Way Stretch, a contemporary trio with pianist
