 l, and distinctive musical identity.\nAs a bandleader and co‑leader,
  he has released several acclaimed recordings, including the hard‑sw
 inging quartet album Up Front!, the expansive ensemble project The Fre
 edom of Movement, and the modern post‑bop quintet release Mind‑Ear
 ‑Ladder with saxophonist Alex Merritt. These albums showcase his mas
 tery of the bebop and post‑bop traditions while highlighting his sop
 histicated writing and unmistakable sound.\nInfluenced by trumpet grea
