 er term of her successful life writing course. Over 6 weeks, we will e
 xplore how to shape and structure our writing in a compelling and nove
 listic way. We will learn ways to hook our readers into our story, kee
 p them turning the pages, charm and alarm them with our characters and
  reveal fascinating, relatable truths about our lives. We will investi
 gate what is meant by a strong voice in memoir and understand how styl
 istic devices like dialogue, scene building, setting description, and 
 suspense creates a vivid world the reader can disappear inside. As wel
 l as reading extracts from published memoirists, nominated students wi
 ll have the chance to workshop extracts of their writing each week. Al
 l levels welcome.\nSocial distancing and self-isolation are not incomp
 atible with writing. Shakespeare himself is rumoured to have written K
 ing Lear while quarantined. It can be helpful to write in challenging 
 times and to be part of a friendly group, focusing on your writing or 
 engaging in a new creative writing course.\nCollage Writing Room’s S
 ummer 2020 programme is set to run online and our tutors are busily ge
 tting used to delivering courses via Zoom video link up. We will give 
 you lots of help setting this up. It is free for you to use. Your cour
 se is only a few clicks away! You don't have to be seen on screen if y
 ou are camera shy, and if you don't fancy tidying the house, we can sh
 ow you how to choose a neutral backdrop! If you don't want to join the
  video side, tutors can send you the exercises/reading lists/feedback 
 via email. We have been using the technology successfully to deliver
