  memories over a cup of tea ....Colourful and exciting, 'carnival' goe
 s back a long way and crosses many continents. Tottenham’s earliest 
 carnival was in aid of the Prince of Wales Hospital, and flourished be
 fore the First World War. We have had many carnival appearances since 
 then, in different past boroughs in our area, as well as the more famo
 us international one in Notting Hill. Carnival was a time for dressing
  up – fancy dress, colourful costumes, or our best gear if we were n
 ot in the parade, and to have a great time. Were you ever in the parad
