 ine, 1977\nRock Against Racism was a campaign set up in the UK in 197
 6 as a response to a rise in racial conflict and the growth of white 
 nationalist groups such as the National Front. The campaign involved
  pop, rock, punk and reggae musicians staging concerts with an 
 anti-racist theme, in order to discourage young people from embracing
  racism. Attracting large crowds of more than 80,000 for a series of 
 live gigs around the UK the grand finale was held in the Great Hall Al
