 he landmark Not waving but drowning, a title loaded with irony and ill
 ustrating her use of understatement. This workshop explores her poetic
  gift, the enduring popularity of her poetry and offers writing exerci
 ses à la Stevie with an overview of her life:\nSaturday, 16th Februar
 y, 2013 - 10.30 am – 16.30 pm St. John’s Parish Centre, cnr Green 
 Lanes/Bourne Hill, Palmers Green, London, N13 4DB  The workshop will h
 ave two parts: Writing workshop: 10.30 am - 1 pm Talk: ‘Who was Stev
 ie?’ plus questions and readings of poems: 2.00 - 4.30 pm  Katherine
  Gallagher is a widely-published poet and tutor. She has five full col
 lections of poetry, most recently Carnival Edge: New & Selected Poems 
 (Arc Publications, 2010). In 2002, she was co-organiser of the Stevie 
 Smith Centenary Palmers Green Poetry Festival, ‘Ten Days with Stevie
