DESCRIPTION:The Electric Blues Club will be organising music on Sunday
  afternoons at Broomfield Park in conjunction with Enfield Council.\nĀ
  \n28th August 2011 1 - 2 p.m Open Mic 2 - 5 p.m Roxi & the Blue Cats 
 Dynamic Blues/Rock/Jazz music will be performing a mixture of covers a
 nd original songs from their new album release with support from by fo
 lk/pop singer/songwriter Jim Dawson & Lou.RoXi & the Blue Cats will be
  performing their own mixture of blues/rock/country/jazz original mate
 rial from their new album of the same name along with cover songs by s
 ome of the great blues artists.\nFronting the band is dynamic vocalist
  Roxi (winner of the Greenwich Talent Show televised on ITV 6 '0' Cloc
 k Show judged by Jools Holland), produced and presented RoXi's New Ban
 d Show and Through The Night Show on Town FM, has subsequently appeare
 d on Radio, TV and venues throughout the UK, Europe and the USA as a s
 olo artist and front woman for a variety of covers and original bands 
 including Blulix & Don't Panic. Her powerful, versatile range and emot
 ive, raunchy style has been likened to such artists as Janis Joplin, E
 tta James and Stevie Nicks. From the gruff growl sliding into mellow s
 exy tones through to stratospheric notes, Roxi is an energetic and emo
 tive performer who keeps the audience enthralled. The Blue Cats line u
 p this year includes exquisitely brilliant ex U-Boat bass player Phili
 p Plant (also played on Man Who Fell To Earth film soundtrack and with
  Red Buddha Theatre), Rick Moxon on rhythm guitar, equisite playing fr
 om guitar teacher Martin Ellins on Lead Guitar and joining them on dru
 ms is well respected local drummer Brian Johnson who has worked with e
 veryone from Big Bands to major artists.RoXi & the Blue Cats will be s
 upported by popular local acoustic folk/contemporary singer/songwriter
  and guitar teacher Jim Dawson and his musical partner Lou on percussi
 on who regularly provide entertainment to audiences at Folk Festivals,
  venues and for 'Music in Hospitals' and HM Prisons throughout the UK.
