DESCRIPTION:To mark the centenary of the First World War, Alexandra Pa
 lace launched their ‘War on the Home Front’ exhibition, a pop up t
 emporary exhibition that allows visitors the rare chance to explore th
 e history of Alexandra Palace’s role 100 years ago. Following widesp
 read interest and over 2700 visitors, the exhibition is undergoing a r
 edisplay, introducing new and exciting objects to tell the story of th
 e Palace during the First World War. Step back in time between June an
 d September 2015 to experience the revamped exhibition at Alexandra Pa
 lace.\nBetween 1914 & 1918 Alexandra Palace was first home to thousand
 s of Belgians fleeing the German invasion before becoming an internmen
 t camp for non- naturalised German, Austrian and Hungarian men who wer
 e considered a danger to the UK’s war effort.  The exhibition uncov
 ers the personal stories and experiences of those imprisoned at the ca
 mp and the dramatic change in local attitudes to how the Palace was be
 ing used.\nThis timed ticketed event is open Thursday mornings, Friday
  afternoons and the first Saturday of every month until Friday 25th Se
