Be aware of camera's!

Just returned from a holiday and had a nasty surprize in the form of a penalty fine for turning into the road to the left of Whittingham road and it bein called a U turn on the Bounds Green road. I have paid the fine but will now go and investigate the signs along that stretch of the road. I know there is a no U turn sign but I did no think that was the mannover I made. However we will see. What do you think? ( sorry will add proper raod name when I return)

The fact remains that the North Circular and Green Lanes are major roads and therefore should bear the brunt of traffic. When the road works are complete then hopefully things will be better for everyone.

I think the roads on your side of Green Lanes (Arcadian, Woodside, Berkshire etc) naturally disperse the traffic better than Bowes Park did before the changes. The no right turn at Whittington has cut traffic and dispersed the rest into more appropriate roads. The pain is the queue to the A406 down Bounds Green road but we will just have to wait until the roadworks are complete.

The A406 does have houses/flats but it has always been a major road and always will be. Yes the current roadworks make life unpleasant for both drivers and people who live there but hopefully this will be alleviated when the roadworks are complete. I am sure by the time these flats will be built then it will be a nicer place to live than anytime in the past.

You should, perhaps, be aware that there is a plan to erect considerable new housing on the 406 near Wilmer Way, making it more of a residential area than it already is!

I am not so hopeful, it seems that the 'new'  A406 in parts may have less capacity that the old one.

The wise transport planners have taken out the bus lay-bys and relocated the bus stops, so now when a bus stops or breaks down or and a passenger incident the A406 is reduced to a single lane.  Why anyone thought we need 20 foot wide pavements rather than a by lane or parking lay-by is beyond me.  All the more fun for when the Olympics takes out another lane!
