How much are you paying for your car insurance?

We all know fees are higher in London than the rest of the UK  - but, chances are, you could be paying a very different rate to someone just a few streets away. Analysis of the figures for our neck of the woods show that residents of N13 and N22 pay a higher premium than those in N11, however over in leafy N10 the same insurance deal would cost considerably less.

There are many variables, car type, driver, off street parking etc - but a recent bit of research showed that  a male driver in his early 40s insuring a Ford Fiesta, third party in N22 would pay around £467.67. Whilst over in N6 or N10 the same deal would cost only £226.46.

The Association of British Insurers blame the increased premiums on bogus whiplash claims, and fraudulent "crash for cash" staged accidents which are pushing up premiums meaning some drivers are paying three times the price to keep their car on the road... even though it is just around the corner from an area where these scams are less prevalent.
