Turning on the Myddleton Road Christmas lights November 30th

Hi everyone,

We Love Myddleton Road is looking for some help with a planned event at on Sunday 30 November.

Our idea is to mark the switching on of the Myddleton Road Christmas lights with a celebration on the road for adults and children.

To make this happen we need some community volunteers - we’re looking for:

  • Someone with design skills to help produce a poster / artwork to promote the event
  • Some volunteers to run a short session of lantern making of similar with children and parents before the light celebration.

So if you or someone you know can help please get in touch.

The celebration will mark the second year of Christmas lights on the road and builds on an impromptu get together last year - pictures below and details here. And it is a chance to bring the community together to support the road.

This year we hope to:

  • Hold a children’s lantern making session in The Hub, with mulled wine and mince pies for the adults, from c.3pm;
  • Then hold a lantern procession to the Community Garden – everyone brings their own lanterns or lights.
  • Followed by Christmas carols in the garden and then the lights being switched on at c4.30pm.

We’re working on the plans right now and some details may change, but we’ll keep you informed.

And of course we'll need more volunteers on the day and in the run up to the celebration - so please let us know if you can help, even if just to put up posters nearer the time.

Thanks
Toby & We Love Myddleton Road
