A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
The Haringey Rhinos youth programme began in September 2011, with the aim of recruiting an Under 13s boys team. However, interest in the youth programme was beyond our wildest expectations and by the end of the season (April 2012), we had 60 children and young people (aged 5 to 16) playing rugby every Sunday! We finished the 2011/12 season with four teams: Under 16s, Under 13s, Under 10s and Under 8s. The Under 10s brought home the Baby Rhinos’ first trophy as Under 10s Development Shield Runners Up in the Middlesex County RFU Mini Rugby Festival. The Under 13s finished their season on a high, with a fantastic win over Fullerians and the Under 16s and Under 8s went from strength to strength. This season, we’re being really ambitious! Our aim is to have 125 children and young people playing rugby every Sunday. We want to have 6 ages groups: Under 8s (mixed), Under 10s (mixed), Under 12s (mixed), Under 14s (boys), Under 16 (boys) and a girls Under 15s team. The Under 16s and Under 14s have been entered in local leagues and all other teams will play in tournaments and against other local teams. Whether you have played rugby before or are completely new to the sport, there is a place for you at the Haringey Rhinos. Training takes place every Sunday, from 11am to 1pm at our grounds at White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre, White Hart Lane, N22 5QW.
