We have lots of well loved open spaces nearby and now you have a chance to nominate your favourite for the award as the UK's Best Park.

Whether your favourite way to enjoy your local green space is a game of tennis at Albert Road Recreation Ground; enjoying the community festival FinsFeste in Finsbury Gardens; a moment of quiet solitude in the Myddleton Road Community Garden visiting the busy centre of volunteer activity in Broomfield Park; the jazz picnic in Woodside Park; the glorious display of hollyhocks in Nightingale Gardens, the majestic views from Alexandra Park - or any other local space - you can decide why your favourite local place is worthy of the title.

At a time when the UK’s parks are seeing a dramatic reduction in funding for upkeep and maintenance and childhood obesity is identified as a growing concern, the UK’s Best Park award will highlight the vital role of local parks and green spaces – for play, relaxation or sport – and help ensure they are protected from closure or building development.

Nominate your favourite local green space,  simply upload a photo and - in no more than 50 words - explain what makes the space so special and worthy of the Award. You have until 5.00pm on Wednesday 19th October to nominate.

Shortlisted parks will be displayed online and put to a public vote The UK's Best Park will be revealed at the Fields in Trust Awards in November.
