Ally Pally boating lake is reputed to be the home of a small colony of feral terrapins and some recent reports have talked of giant swans... but the latest addition to the exotic wildlife of Ally Pally appears to be three human sized beavers!

If you have visited in the last few day you might have spotted an enormous Beaver Lodge built from logs and branches and accessed by an underwater entrance

The whole thing is part of a being filmed for a new National Geographic TV series to be screened on Channel Five next year. Three men will live like Beavers in the boating lake for the project which aims to show how different animals survive in the wild.

Here are a couple of photographs of the human beavers and their remarkable structure:

...and yes ... the water really is that colour!

chilly Brrrrr rather them than me!

Swans look fun though, I can see an adult picnic being planned with bronco swan riding competitions!!

Cherish that "child within!"

Ally Pally boating lake isn't really 'wild'!  So the premise is invalid.
