Broomfield School put on Special Measures after failing Ofsted insection

A BOWES school earmarked for expansion has been put on special measures after failing its Ofsted inspection (click to read full report).

The watchdog criticised the teaching at Broomfield School, found the quality of learning varied significantly between different subjects, and slammed senior management and governors for failing to raise standards.

Inspectors who toured the school in Wilmer Way last month gave a rating of “inadequate” for both effectiveness and capacity for sustained improvement, and ordered special measures to try to secure a swift improvement in standards.

That's a shame.  Both my children went to Broomfield and did well.  The school had a good reputation at the time.

Mixed feelings - will this mark a turnaround in the fortunes of the school or just bring it from inadequate to ok? And ok is not good enough.
