Many of you will know Melanie Masson - either through her kids music events at the Myddleton Road Children's Hub, or her terrific musical performaces locally, or maybe though her campaigning work with the Pinkham Way Alliance.
Now Melanie will be introduced to a wider audience via her appearence on ITV's XFactor.
Melanie was inteviewed recently by Olly Murs in Myddleton Road the item will be screened tonight as part of ITV 2s Extra Factor at 9:25 pm tonight Saturday, and thereafter on catch-up.

Watch out for the next stage of Melanie's Journey this weekend - an here is an additional feature - Site member Anna O'Neill reports for BBC London 94.9 about Melanie's X factor performance, and about travelling around the local area dressed as a fairy! The report culminates in Ann joining in a duet with Melanie:
Presumably Melanie must have made it through boot camp as all Flutterby classes seem to be cancelled for the foreseeable...?
I am pretty sure she did Nicole, good for her! Do you think we could persuade her to do one more local concert before she becomes a global supperstar?
Congratulations to Melanie on getting through to the live shows
Good to see Melanie using the current media interest to raise the issue of the proposed Pinkham Way waste processing development - in an interview in the Evening Standard she spoke about the community campaign against the plant: You can read the full article here:

It was so disappointed to see Melanie lose on the X Factor especially to a group of boys who could not even sing in harmony or to the tune. I suppose it shows what an absolutely useless show it is that does not recongise real talent. I have heard that Melanie is playing at a concert in London on Saturday night, wouldn't it be great if we could get a group of Bowes Park residents to go down and show our apprecation? And perhaps start a campaign for a welcome home gig in Bowes Park?
Well done Melanie, you did Bowes Park proud even if the British public didn't show its apprecation.
Such a shame but I have no doubt that this will mark the beginning of a new career for Melanie - she has had great exposure and everyone has recognised how amazing her voice is. I can imagine the directors of productions like Jesus Christ Superstar and Wicked being very interested in a talent like hers. I do hope that there will be a welcome home gig in Bowes Park and (on behalf of my 2 year old daugher) that we do see the return of Flutterby singing.
I seen her at The Steps earlier this year but she also said on the telly that she plays at Mum's Lounge. That would be brilliant and I'm sure either of them would jump at the chance. Or the TAB centre? And my little grand daughter loves Fairy's Flutterby so the sooner the sessions start again the better!
I don't think Melanie needs to worry though she has a big future in music and think she would be perfect in a show like Jesus Christ Superstar or Cats.
