Pinkham Way Alliance petition: HALT THE £3 BILLION WASTE CONTRACT FOR NORTH LONDON

The Pinkham Way Alliance has started the petition "Halt the £3 billion waste contract for North London" and needs your help to get it off the ground.

Will you take 30 seconds to sign it right now? And forward it to friends, neighbours and your local networks? Here's the link:

http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/halt-the-3-billion-waste-cont...

The North London Waste Authority is about to award a massive contract for the management of waste (garbage collections, building waste plants, recycling etc) across all seven of its member boroughs. These are Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest.

As part of this huge procurement, the NLWA wants to put some sort of waste facility on Pinkham Way. We don't yet know what form this will take.  So although the original plans for a colossal plant at Pinkham Way have been shelved for the time being, any waste facility on Pinkham Way  (a nature conservation site) could open the door to a much larger one further down the line.

So you see that the fight for Pinkham Way and the much bigger, 30-year waste contract for North London are closely entwined.

PLEASE  sign the petition and forward it to friends, family and neighbours.

Looked into this yesterday and signed the petition. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Thanks Lindsay - that is appreciated. Don't forget to get friends and neighbours to sign it too.
