The Bowes Park Sprinters are a team of 14 assorted adults and children who are taking part in the 5k Big Fun Run in Victoria Park on 25th October 2014.
What they have in common is Donald Robinson - dad to Emma and Simon and friend to the rest. In May Donald had a stroke, up to then, when he was not at work sorting out the signals on the underground, he was generally to be found hitting a ball across a court or honing his martial arts skills with Simon. Stroke has profoundly changed Donald's life and that of his family - he is working hard and making progress at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square and we hope that he will be on the sidelines in Victoria Park cheering us on!
The Stroke Association provides information and support to individuals, families and professionals, raises awareness and funds research into the prevention and treatment of stroke. So please sponsor the Bowes Park Sprinters and help the Stroke Association to continue their vital work.

Go the Bowes Park Sprinters!
We'll put all the proceeds of our next book swap at The Step towards sponsoring to you - there's quite a bit of cash in there at the moment (along with a new swathe of top titles, big thanks to whoever put them in this weekend!) so if we cap it at the end of October we should be able to give you a decent amount.

Congratulations to the Bowes Park Sprinters, not only did they smash the £500 target they set themselves for fundraising - they reached £1651 or 330% ! - and they were also chosen as Fundraising Team of the month by the Stroke Association - for whom their fundraising was focused.You can read the full story on the Stroke Association website
