Merry meet, everyone!:-) I live in Marlborough House in Marlborough Road and wanted to know if anyone knew anything about the history of the building.

Hi Fiona

I had always understood that Marlborough House was built immediately after World War Two on a site that had been bombed during the London Blitz - an attack on New River could have affected London's Water Supply? ...but it doesn't appear on the London Bomb Sight web map.

Our area did get a bit knocked about during the blitz ... perhaps most famously the bomb dropped on Bounds Green Tube station - follow this link for the full story.

The local history museum at Bruce Castle would probably know more - let us know if you find out.

Thank you,Richard, Of course I will let you know what I find out! While I have you, do you know if there are any Wiccan groups in the area?
There seems to have been bombings all around Marlborough Road, but none on it! Also the post codes are different. I`m waiting to hear back from Bruce Castle Museum so hopefully there will be some results there!:-)
