A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Short Sighted Cinema announce that they are partnering with Talkies Community Cinema for the second ‘HERE’ film festival. The festival aims to reflect and celebrate the diversity of interests, people and places in North London.
The festival programme includes all varieties of film, but predominantly independent productions that have some connection with the area. As part of the festival, Short Sighted Cinema will present a programme of short films, which will premiere four new films from the ‘HERE’ short film commission.
The commission is now open to expressions of interest.
Four filmmakers will be awarded £500 each to produce a short film based in, or featuring, south Enfield. Creativity and storytelling is at the heart of the festival and the commission is open to all styles and forms of filmmaking including comedy, drama, animation and original documentary. The films should explore elements of suburban life, embracing locality while expressing individual artistry. There is also mentorship available from six award winning film makers and last year’s winners. Each has helped to coach and hone the skills of others and all live locally, including Marc Isaacs and Ian Emes.
