Back in the summer I was approached to take part in a local oral history project - and to encourage others to get involved too, It was a fascinating idea to tell the story of a local pub through capturing the stories of its regulars over the years.

So a couple of weekends ago I was privileged to be among an audience of 90 or so people squeezed into the back of the Ranelagh pub for a remarkable presentation of local history - part lecture, part musical, part play, part spoken word ... but all heart and delivered with wit, flair and fun by the members of the Travelling Tent team... Eleanor Harding, Miriam Sherwood and Annie Ward.

But don't just take my word for it: the evening was very favourably reviewed by Chris Omaweng on the London Theatre website  and by Daniel Perks on A Younger Theatre Website.

For those not able to witness the event live you can still get a flavour of the oral history - and the warmth and love people feel for their "local" - by following Traveling Tent's "Ranelagh Timeline" setting out the local history and important events celebrated in this much-loved local pub.
