How do you manage against the squirrels Lindsey? Even the RSPB products haven't been so successful with us.
We've got a lovely tiny little wren that flits about our garden, an occasional mistle thrush and a pair of great tits. My dad nearly jumped out of his dressing gown the other week when a dirty great big sparrow hawk swooped across our garden. I also always look forward to the time when the swifts return from Africa but I believe they've heard the weather forecast and turned back.
Mistle thrush and sparrow hawk? Jealous.
My regulars are a pair of magpies, a gang of pigeons (led by Frank), and pairs of blackbirds, robins, great tits and blue tits. I've only seen the finches that once. And I'm sure I've glimpsed a wren in the tree but never seen it feeding.
We don't manage to discourage the squirrels. They're fiendish. I feel they deserve the food they snaffle. And I love watching them hanging upside down trying to get at bits from the nut feeder!
