Talkies Community Cinema is more than just movies…it's a developing hub of cultural life in the area.

The next event is at the Fox on Wednesday 17 July. Doors and bar open 7.00 and the film starts at 7.30.

For those of you that haven't been there yet, The Fox is a great venue for Talkies Cinema. A private bar, live music before and after the film and an intermission all add to the atmosphere. Meet old friends and make new ones at this emerging hub of the cultural community in the area.

Next week's film 'Oil City Confidential' builds on earlier music-inspired evenings including Strictly Ballroom, the Blues Brothers and O Brother where Art Thou?

This event is a celebration of Wilko Johnson and Dr Feelgood. Julien Temple's Oil City Confidential is about four men in cheap suits who crashed out of Canvey Island in the early '70s, sandpapered the face of rock’n’roll and left all that came before a burnt-out ruin.
