I am delighted to tell you that this application has been withdrawn.  The applicant withdrew it following a very fine statement by the Planning Officer that it would be refused if continued with.  see above link (I hope).

This statement is most useful for us all in future comments on applications.

What would be really good now, is for the owners to knock down the fence that divides the many residents of these two properties from the garden land at the back.  It is clear there will never be permission granted for building, so it should now be what it should always have been - space for the residents to play and enjoy.
