A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
I found out today that from Monday 22nd September there will be no buses running directly from Bounds Green Station to Muswell Hill, due to road works on Colney Hatch Lane. The 299 will not run from Bounds Green and the 102 will be diverted through Alexandra Palace Way to Muswell Hill. The suspension will last for four weeks, but the closure along Colney Hatch Lane will last for seven weeks.
I believe you can get further information from the Haringey Council website.
This will mean a great inconvenience to many car drivers, but what about the people who don't have a car for example, if one only wants to go as far as the T junction at Alexandra Park Road and Colney Hatch Lane, it will mean a walk and there must be many vulnerable people who cannot walk far, how are they going to manage? Was there no public consultation about this?

Permalink Reply by Vivian Perkins on September 26, 2014 at 16:41 Thank you so much for the offer. I was very touched by your kindness. I did manage to get there last weekend before I got your message. I suppose if I were desperate for gardening things, I could get the train from Bowes Park to Crewes Hill but I do prefer the Sunshine Garden Centre as the staff are so nice. Maybe I could email you next week if I need to go to the Garden Centre. Hopefully the buses will be running as normal the week after. With grateful thanks. Vivian
Permalink Reply by Val Turpin on September 26, 2014 at 17:46 Vivian, I thought that you might like to know that the 184 is still running past The Garden Centre before it turns off into Alexandra Park Road to Wood Green, as I saw it yesterday when I was walking that way, Val

Permalink Reply by Val Turpin on September 27, 2014 at 15:13 Vivian, the 184 is running as normally , this is because it is not effected by the road works on Colney Hatch Lana, so as far as I am aware you can travel to and from Bounds Green to Wood Green with no problems. The reason that the 102 and 299 cannot go to Muswell Hill is that Colney Hatch Lane is blocked off as the buses turn left towards Muswell Hill and the cars manage because they divert down the side streets. I hope that this information is helpful for you. Kind regards Val
