Bogus calls
Hi all,
Just to let you know a family member in Bowes Park was subject to an attempted telephone scam yesterday; the male caller stating they were a 'PC Motson from Southgate Station', and claiming to have found 'several personal papers and credit cards with your name on them...during a house raid'. The family member realised quickly it was a bogus call due to major inaccuracies in what they were claiming to have found and duly reported it to Police via 101, to be told they are 'currently inundated' with similar reports. Please be careful, neighbours!

I'd like to add a variation to this scam that some friends experienced -someone rings claiming to be from the bank and says your card(s) were subject to fraud and sends 'a courier' to collect cards that have been cut up that they then use to access funds - they are targeting older vulnerable people and are seemingly quite convincing. Take care folks.
