OK ... its beginning to look a lot like Christmas (and feel like it too with the cold weather)

so ... where should I go locally to buy a good quality real Christmas tree? Any suggestions?

We have a Christmas tree farm from Hertfordshire selling their trees and logs at Harringay Market. We can deliver if you like. The trees and logs were a success, sold all of them last Sunday.
The market is at North Harringay Primary School Falkland Rd N8 0NU, every Sunday 11-3.

At B&Q the new one in the Friern Barnet retail park, we bought ours there last weekend!

Hello John

A couple of ideas: The Horticultural nursery centre at Wolves Lane is stocking Christmas trees and is well worth a visit anyway.

For the last few years we have bought ours from Pola Florists - on the corner of Green Lanes and Melbourne Avenue - they have both cut trees and rooted trees in pots - and always provide a very friendly and professional service.

One final suggestion - a charity project is generating income for work with children and families in east London - you can buy an ethically sourced, quality tree and arrange for delivery anywhere in London see the Community Christmas Trees website.

Richard - I had no idea that garden centre was there. Just back from a visit - what a wonderful place! They even have a pet duck in the shop. I came away with a poinsettia (£2.50) and an urge to get a job there. Thank you!

It's terrific isn't it - when the kids were toddlers there was enough entertainment there for a family day out!

The Summer before last Michael took some photographs and added them to the site:

On Sat 8th the first 1000 at Edmonton Ikea can get a tree for £25 with it you get a free £20 Ikea voucher. I got one last Saturday.

Or the Sunshine Garden Centre. I have noticed a lot of 'grocery' shops are selling them outside

Hi all,

Just to let you know that you will be able to buy Christmas trees at the market on the 15th (just confirmed with pinesandneedles). They will be with us from 9.30am.

Thanks x

I got mine from Cachel on Myddleton Road and you can't get much more local than that. There are a lot of new local businesses springing up in the area that quite rightly get a lot of credit but for some reason the lovely ladies running this local florist don't seem to get a look in.
