Event Description
Wassailing events are popping up all over London, and now in Bowes Park. ‘Wassail’ is an old English greeting, wishing good health and shared wisdom. Old wassailing ceremonies throughout southern England are often associated with specific songs. Chris will teach us three of these, one for a central part of the ceremony that we shall perform in the Community Garden. No charge, but donations welcome.
Chris Turner is a songwriter, folk singer, dancing master and itinerant Wassailer, who has performed at many UK folk festivals. For more information see the Folk Club page.
