A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Four wonderful parks in Enfield celebrate the end of the London 2012 Festival on Sunday 9 September 2012, from 1pm - 5pm
Enfield Council invite everyone to come out and enjoy the Bandstand Marathon event at Broomfield Park
The park will come alive with music on Sunday 9 September, with Reggae, soul and Afro-Caribbean music from Harambe Drummers, Lovella Ellis, Jawal Van Brown, and Royal Sounds.
Marking the end of the London 2012 Festival and an amazing summer of sport and culture on the final day of the Paralympic Games.
This is one of four events across the borough including Hillyfields, Ponders End and Albany Parks. It promises to be a truly memorable day, showcasing the best local talent and an eclectic musical programme including local rock, world music, and folk bands, up and coming pop and R&B artists, choirs & classical musicians and more. This free event will entertain audiences from 1-5pm, offering everyone who comes along a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the nationwide finale celebrations for London 2012.
The other Enfield events will include:
• Urban pop from Cardan Jayy, local favourites Music from the Red Room and R&B acapella from 4 Real at Albany Park, EN3 5PA
• Out to Lunch and 60s soul from the Soul Agents at Hillyfields Park, EN2 0UD
• A variety of local and regional acts at Ponders End Park, EN3 4EY
Theses events will be part of among hundreds of outdoor concerts taking place simultaneously in bandstands and outdoor performance spaces across the UK, making up the nationwideBandstand Marathon – the official closing event of the London 2012 Festival.
