ArtsDepot Barnet Folk in the Foyer: Pete Morton
Friday 21st February 2014 8.30PM
Barnet Folk Club presents Folk in the Foyer, hosted by J. J. Dunne.
Those who attended Bowes Park Folk Club on February 6th will know Pete Morton is a songwriter and performer with a wealth of great songs and stage presence. Famous for his 'frapping' technique of marrying traditional folk choruses with rap, his shows are dynamic and intense, while remaining approachable and fun-loving.
Starting out as a busker on the streets of Europe, he has entertained all over the globe with his compelling stories of the human condition. With a passionate, strong voice and strident guitar style, Pete's songs are an unruly mix of humour, politics, love and social comment, 'frapping' their way around the folk tradition.
Folk in the Foyer will see Pete performing songs from his new album The Frapping and Rambling Pete Morton, due for release in January 2014.
