Our next trip is to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, part of a World Heritage site that also contains the Royal Observatory and Queens House. The main building and the Queens House are magnificent, designed by Inigo Jones, while the museum itself has tons of items on the theme of History of Britain at Sea and a potrait collection second only to the National Portrait Gallery.
Meet at Bounds Green Tube Station at 11am to go to Holborn, change to the Central to Bank, then change to the DLR to Cutty Sark station.
There is no charge to get into the National Maritime Museum. On the 9th there is no specific exhibition, but there is a Discover Sundays family activity event http://www.rmg.co.uk/see-do/exhibitions-events/discover-sundays
which runs between 2 and 4pm and is a general "discover maritime history" with a different activity every Sunday.
There is also a decent quality cafe and shop.
