Event Description

Although the charity Christmas card shop has been  open low-key from Saturday 31 October 2015 , the official opening takes place on the following Saturday, 7 November 2015 at 11 am when the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Enfield, Mrs Ann Cable MBE DL, will officiate.

The Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Enfield is appointed by the Lord Lieutenant for Greater London, and is defined as a distinguished resident who either has served the local community, or has a history of service in other fields. Mrs Cable has a background in education having worked as a primary head teacher, and was a volunteer in St John Ambulance for more than 40 years, becoming the first female Commissioner of London St John, for which she received an MBE in 2013.

Part of her function as a Deputy Lieutenant, apart from representing the Lord Lieutenant where required, is “to promote voluntary, charitable and youth activities within her borough”.

Mrs Cable has been kind enough to accept our invitation to officially open the shop, and is looking forward to getting to know as many residents of the locality as possible so we hope you will be able to come to the church to meet her. Refreshments will be available at The Place for Coffee as alway

This year we are offering a Christmas card showing a local scene – the Conservatory in Broomfield Park taken at sunset by Steven Harrison.  We hope you will like it.

Following the Official Opening, Crds for Good Causes will remain open all day until 4pm
