Event Description
Chopin is always a popular composer, but few people realise how much inspiration he got from dances - either watching them as a child in the Warsaw salons, or later, composing them. With so much dance-inspired music, it is surprising that performances of his music with dancers are not more common. Celina Liesegang is a fine young contemporary dancer with a rich portfolio. She will be interpreting several of Chopin's pieces, and like Chopin (who was a great improviser) will be spontaneously creating her performance. The programme includes Waltzes, Mazurkas, Polonaises, Ballades. Suitable for all adults and children 4+. Tickets from billetto.co.uk/Chopin danced.
