Have some fun and make a noise at the Enfield Music Service Open Morning on Saturday, 25 January at Houndsfield School.

Whether it’s singing, playing a musical instrument or learning to play unusual pieces, Enfield Music Service offers music making opportunities for children of all ages.

At this year’s open day at the Saturday Centre, children and parents can find out what is on offer and see and hear performances in progress

‘Try an instrument’ sessions are taking place throughout the morning with a huge choice: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpets, horns, trombones, keyboard, guitar, Indian tabla, violin, viola, cello, oboe and drum kit.

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Enfield Council’s Cabinet member for Children & Young People, said, “Enfield Music Service offers first class tuition in our schools and plenty of exciting musical experiences at the weekly Saturday Centre.

"Music is an expressive art form which we can all enjoy and this service teaches music appreciation and performance at the highest standards. Over 12,000 children are enjoying performing and learning and we are discovering superb talent.”

Open Morning programme
9.15am Music Club (for pupils in school years 1 and 2)
10.20am Saturday Singers (choir for pupils in year 3, 4, 5 and 6)
11.30am Steel Pan group (for pupils in year 4 upwards)
9.15am & 11.30am: Beginner and Intermediate Keyboard Clubs

‘Try an Instrument’ session will take place from 9.30-12.30
Visitors can get information and advice about learning to play a musical instrument and how to apply for lessons which are offered in schools and at the Saturday Centre.
