The sounds of the West End’s best known musicals will brighten North Middlesex University Hospital at a public concert on Thursday 19 November.
The illustrious Enfield Community Singers will perform a repertoire of popular songs like Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Miserables, No Business Like Showbusiness, and Edelweiss.
The free lunchtime event is from 12.30pm to 1.30pm in the hospital’s main atrium.
The four-part choir, which performs at concerts across Enfield, will also stage a singalong with a medley of songs from the Sixties. Hundreds of patients, visitors and staff are expected to attend.
It’s the latest in the Edmonton hospital’s Arts in the Atrium programme of free live performances that add enjoyment to the hospital experience of patients, staff and visitors alike. The events have hosted the choirs of Wilbury and Rainham Primary schools in Edmonton, singers and musicians from among the hospital’s 3,000 staff, poetry readings and a photography exhibition.
North Middlesex University Hospital chair John Carrier said: “We’re delighted to host the Enfield Community Singers and to bring some welcome lunchtime enjoyment to our patients and hard-working staff. The Arts in the Atrium events are an incredibly popular feature of our hospital’s life and we are always looking for new performing talent to take part. It could be you, so please get in touch!”
