Event Description

Predictions that robots will destroy our jobs and that driverless cars will take over our roads highlight a big question: can we reliably forecast the future at all? By studying the spectacular successes and failures of past forecasts, local resident and researcher Iain Smith has identified some interesting forecasting rules which, applied to current predictions, help us to understand what’s likely as we progress into the future.
