Events planned will include Art, Music, Dance, Film, Poetry, Photography, Historical Talks, Educational Walks and Talks, Nature Trails, Children’s Projects and a Fair with a variety of stalls.
The celebration in the Park over these two days will be inaugurated by a historical pageant involving local schools and community groups with a band led Edwardian themed parade in the Park where Civic dignitaries will officially open the proceedings to replicate the original 1913 opening by the Lord Mayor of London.
We urgently need to get schools, community groups, and Ethnic societies, Sport Groups to participate in period or ethnic costumes inspired by the themes of the 10 decades of the park.
If you represent a school, sports, ethnic or other organisation and wish to dress up in period costume, uniform or national dress and join in the procession please get in touch with the Friends of Grovelands Park.
In the park there will be exhibitions and displays as well as stalls selling food and drink. There will be music and dancing, dog shows, sports displays and many other events all relating to the Edwardian origin of the park and the important part it has played in the lives of the local community over the years.
Connecting the communities of Bowes Park and Bounds Green in north London.
