Meet at the Holmsdale Road N6 entrance to the Parkland Walk (20m from the Boogaloo pub, near to Highgate Tube station) on Saturday 8th December @ 10am. Here's a map: http://goo.gl/maps/FQvl4
Haringey Tree Wardens hold tree-related events every two months in different parts of Haringey.
We walk to Finsbury Park, accompanied by people with all levels of knowledge about trees, including complete beginners. The aim is to learn, discover and appreciate the treescape lining this valuable public space. We will be looking closely at the Ash trees along the way for Ash Dieback.
Those interested meet in the café afterwards to reflect on where we've been and where we are going, to help the Tree Warden steering group.
Everyone welcome - no problem to peel off at one of the exits if you wish.
If you have any books or guides that might help give us a key to tree identification, please bring what you can easily carry.
Photographers are welcome - we always looking to add to our list of identified trees.
The Tree Walk is intended to last around an hour (sometimes up to two hours) and then we adjourn to a local cafe for a chat if anyone wants to.
Please note that you don't have to be a tree warden to join in - many people simply turn up every so often to look and learn and sometimes to contribute.
------------------------------------
To join this event, please go to our Facebook Page for this Tree Walk. Then choose 'join' the event (in the top right corner of the event page) so we know that you are likely to attend. It really helps us if you do this. If you don't use Facebook, please email events@HaringeyTreeWardens.org.uk and let us know you're going to accompany us on this walk. See you at 10am on Saturday. If it's too wet to have a comfortable walk, we'll find a cafe nearby and talk about trees from leaves and branches gathered locally.
Alex Fraser from Haringey Council pointed out the largest English Elm in Haringey which is on the Parkland Walk http://www.flickr.com/photos/47046427@N03/8254179327/in/set-7215762...
