Side Partition is a universal band, motivated by music and creativity. They were the only South Asian band to be chosen by BBC 4 to be finalists of a scout for the UK's best part-time bands and received massive TV coverage on BBC 4 as part of this TV programme. A combination of inspirations from the east and the west gives way to a unique form of fusion music. The novel sound evokes the exotic Asian influence and seamlessly intertwines it with Britpop, creating a catchy and innovative mix. The London influences are more subtle than the Asian, creating a commercial and universally appealing sound of Asian music. Like the amalgamation of several genres, the band too is formed of professionals working in various fields including, finance, medicine and IT.
