Doors 7pm. Band 8pm
Dick Pearce first emerged on London’s jazz scene in the early 1970s. Since then, his sound and his approach to improvisation have enhanced many jazz groups, TV jingles and studio recordings. He is best known for his work with Ronnie Scott between 1980 and 1994. In 1980 Dick joined The Ronnie Scott Quintet, with whom he travelled all over the world for the following 14 years. The band included John Critchinson (piano, who made a recent appearance with Alan Barnes at Kabaret), Ron Mathewson (double bass), Martin Drew (drums) and Ronnie Scott (tenor sax). In more recent years Dick has been heard with - Alan Barnes/Don Weller’s ‘Tribute to Cannonball Adderley Band’.
Dick is joined by regular associate, the underrated Dave Mitchell on tenor sax, while the versatile and highly gifted Pete Whittaker on organ makes up the rhythm section with regular drummer Stu Butterfield.
