LOSS FOUND is an ongoing collaborative body of work by artists and designers Sue Westergaard & Esther Smith. Having both spent their careers in design, costume & fashion their joint work exploits the traditions of surface decoration & textiles. The work explores the fundamentals of humanity… we are born, we love, we live, we age, we become diseased, we decay, we die, we erode. There is no escape. This is the human condition. It is frightening & it is awesome.

This exhibition consists of pieces that combine found objects with drawings, fabric pieces, photographs & prints. These ‘gatherings’ create intimate connections that become encounters with dreamt histories: histories of the people who previously owned them, or those who might have owned them: us.
