Beatrice Offor (1864 - 1920) was one of the first women who trained at The Slade and was a popular artist in her day - although, like many other women artists, she is overlooked in art history.

Bruce Castle Museum will be holding an exhibition from 21 March 2020, her centenary year. To celebrate her work, there is a morning conference of free talks about her life and works, with the following programme:

• 11am From the Slade to the Super-natural by Dr Charlotte de Mille - The Courtauld Institute of Art
• 11.30am Myth and Mysteries: The Magical Revival and Beatrice Offor by Geraldine Beskin - The Atlantis Bookshop, and Researcher
• 12 noon Beatrice Offor: Love, Life and Art in Bruce Grove, Tottenham by Deborah Hedgecock - Curator, Bruce Castle Museum

The conference will be introduced by Dr Jan Marsh of the National Portrait Gallery (Curator of the recent Pre-Raphaelite Sisters exhibition).
