Our free lunchtime talks programme ...
70 years ago the Central Office of Information was established in 1946, following the closure of the Ministry of Information that was operating during WW2. The COI produced a wide range of information campaigns on film and television, designed to inform the public on issues affecting their daily lives – on health, welfare, education and even road safety. Here is a selection of some favourite and fondly-remembered public information films produced between 1945 to 2006, all from the collection of The National Archive.
Doors open from 12 noon. Refreshments available.
