Our Speaker this evening will be:
JANE BROOK from Capel Manor College who will talk on:-
LATIN PLANT NAMES- LEARN TO LOVE THEM!
Jane trained in plant science and worked in plant research, but later studied horticulture and has taught horticulture and plant science at various colleges including Capel Manor for 25 years. She is also an examiner for the RHS and is particularly interested in sustainability issues and environmental management.
JANE says: All gardeners complain about learning botanical plant names but I aim in my talk to take listeners through how these evolved, why they are important and, horror of horrors, why they sometimes change!
