ODEON Muswell Hill - celebrating 75th birthday!
Special birthday charity screening of the very first film to be shown at ODEON Muswell Hill in 1936, the sci-fi classic, ‘Things to Come’.
Produced by Alexander Korda and directed by William Cameron Menzies. The screenplay was written by H. G. Wells and is a loose adaptation of his 1933 novel The Shape of Things to Come and his 1931 work, The Work, Wealth and Happiness of Mankind.
The year is 1936 and after World War begun in 1940 and drags on for decades, the war ravaged world has just got back on its feet. As society rebuilds, space travel is planned when unrest begins again.
Friday 9th September, 1pm.
Tickets £1.50 (50p of the proceeds are to be distributed equally between The Variety Club and NSPCC).
